Wednesday Words of Wisdom

"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a Woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she knows."
— Audrey Hepburn

Who decides what is beautiful?  As a beauty professional, I don't even know who came up with the idea that an oval face, large eyes, small nose, and pouty lips were beautiful. But we can only change so much about our outsides.  What we can change is how beautiful we are on the insides.  I love how Audrey often spoke of beauty, both inside and out.   What are you doing today to be beautiful on the inside and the outside?

Words of Wisdom Wednesday

"For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others."

Tuesday Tip

Proms, parties, and weddings typically have one thing in common - UPDO's!  There's something amazingly beautiful about a woman in a great dress with her hair swept up in a fancy style.  Here's a few tips on helping you get the most beautiful updo.

  • Make an appointment for a trial run with your stylist.  It may cost you a few extra dollars, but you'll be able to decide if you like the style and test out how well it stays in your hair.
  • Take along a picture.  Stylists love pictures - they are a great starting point to find out what you like and don't like.  Your stylist can tweak the look so that its just right for your hair, your face, and your dress.
  • Don't wash your hair!  You read it right - the day of your event, don't wash your hair.  Second day hair stays better.
  • Wear a button or zipper shirt.  Don't spend your time and money getting your hair done up just right and then end up ruining it by having to take your t-shirt off over your head.  It just won't 'do.
  • Consider adding some sparkles, extensions, or flowers to your updo for interest.
  • Be open to your stylists advice!
  • Purchase an extra can of hairspray and some extra bobbie pins.....just in case.
Have a beautiful day!
